We're back from the honeymoon and ready to start filling orders. thanks for everyone's patience. Everything should ship out by Tuesday, October 22 at the latest.
Animal Collective live box set news: the is no news. please don't write and ask about it -- We don't have anything to tell you. We have not begun production on it. If there's news about it, you'll read about it here, trust me. But from here on out all messages from nervous AC fans are going to be deleted -- I can't answer the same question over and over again; when there's news, you'll know because it'll be up here. Promise.
If you're hyperventilating about missing it, sign up for the Fusetron
Records email list -- they will be the exclusive distributor for it and if you're on their email list, you'll definitely hear about it.
Other than that, things have been moving slow, but rest assured there will be new stuff coming along soon. Just hold your horses.
It's funny; if we don't post a new
piece of news for a while we hear nothing about it for many weeks
until, like some sort of cosmic synchronicity, EVERYONE starts to
write in to see what's what with the label.
The truth is there's nothing concrete to report
right now, but I'll let you all in on the upcoming projects we are
working on. But: if any of you tries to preorder these things we
will be VERY UPSET. So don't try. If you are worried about missing
Catsup Plate stuff, why not sign up for the Fusetron
Records email list? They always have C-Plate stuff long after
we're sold out here.
Okay, so here's what we have planned: a Black
Dice 12" with poster, a Mountains
LP and an Animal
Collective live 3LP set. All of these will be somewhat limited,
but again, if you preorder you're just pissing us off as we have
no list and no real good way to keep track of you. Sign up with
Fusetron and you'll get a copy, I swear.
We'll be out of the "office" for a week or so starting
this Wednesday for a little Christmas R & R, but will be back
on Wednesday the 27. Any orders we get in that time will be processed
when we get back. Thanks.
We're back, quicker than you'd have
thought we'd be. We wanted to announce the publication of GORE,
a book of art, collage, and photography by our friends Black Dice
and Jason Frank Rothenberg. It's a crazy mix of visuals, with more
eye candy that you can probably stand.
Because we (in the guise of our alter-ego, the design
company, SEEN)
did the design layout and a few of the pages ourselves we have some
copies to sell. You can preview the book here
and therein you'll find links to ordering, etc. (the book is now out of print).
Not entirely sure what the protocol is for stuff
like this, but there are a few images that somewhat border on the
"mature," so if you seem like you're twelve years old,
we may hit you up for parental permission (although, jeez, its art
and not all that salacious considering what you could find with
a few mouse clicks).
Anyways, check it out; we're psyched about
it.
Oh yeah; and if you're still
looking for copies of the split
Axolotl and The Skaters LP, hit up Fusetron. They still have
some (and a lot of other savory treats as well).
Okay, people: I've got some bad
news (or good, depending on your outlook). Demand for the Axolotl/The
Skaters LP has been so high that we WILL NOT have copies for mailorder.
At least for now. We may try and repress the record and there has
also been talk of a CD issue. We will see. In the meantime, all
the usual distributors will have copies. Folks who are in an especial
hurry are advised to hit up the fine folks at Fusetron.
Other distributors should have copies in-hand within a week or so.
Many apologies, but it is all out of our hands. We'll post something
here if/when a repress happens.
In the meantime, please don't beg us for copies
or ask to pre-order the as-yet-not-even-confirmed repress, etc.,
etc. We really don't have copies, nor can we handle the logisitical
nightmare that is a waiting list. Just look around. And remember:
its only a record.
Wow. Has it really been overthree
months since our last update? We're still in a bit of a holding
pattern herethe new split LP betwixt The Skaters and Axolotl
is held up at the pressing plant, but will hopefully be ready within
5 weeks or so. We'll let you know once it is ready (or sign up for
our Yahoo!-style budget mailing list: catsupplate-subscribe@yahoogroups.com
), with a real update soon, promise.
But we DID want to hip you NYC-based folks
to an upcoming bebefit show for our freinds at the ever-awesome

First, and most importantly, we
will be out of town for Christmas, so any orders we receive between
now and January 1 will go out upon our return. Thanks for your understanding.
Our next releasea split LP betwixt Skaters
and Axolotl is being mastered right now. Not sure what the official
release date on this one will be, but it should be early in the
new yearlate January or February hopefully. We're super-excited
about this one folks; the unmastered version is on near continual
rotation around here.
I think that's it around here. Happy holidays. We'll
see your next year...
After some delay, we are proud to
announce the release of Crown
of Marches by Steven R. Smith. Steven is known for his phenomenal
work in Hala Strana and Thuja (among other projects), but those
familiar with his previous work may be surprised by what they hear.
Crown is a mammoth 40+ minute epic psychedelic guitar excursion
that brings to mind everything from Keiji Haino to Popul Vuh. It
is difficult to do this record justice, but suffice it to say that
we have been listening to it near constantly since it landed in
our lap some months back.
Short and sweet this time folks. One quick last
note though: people seem confused by the lack of updates 'round
here and all we can say is "patience." There are a lot
of thing going on around here (meaning within Catsup Plate and without).
And sometime the website gets put to the side. But more stuff will
be coming, we just may not tantalize you as far in advance.
Sorry for the radio silence everyone.
Things have been busy for us here, even though it seems like nothing's
been happening from the look of our news section. This here update
will be very short, but by the middle/end of August we'll be announcing
the release of our newest release by the always amazing Steven R.
Smith entitled Crown of Marches.
But for now we wanted to let you know that we'll be away for 10
days starting on Friday August 5 and ending on Sunday August 14.
No orders will go out then, but will go out immediately upon our
return.
More soon. Thanks for your patience. |
